This is the source code and supporting developer files for Liberal Crime Squad.
It will download the entire code base and all of the resources for Liberal Crime Squad into the folder you just created. The key one is the one listing where the repository is located online. Then, right click on it or in blank space in it and select "SVN check out" or something named similarly in the drop down menu.Ī pop up will give you options. Create a new folder anywhere you like and name it whatever you like.
TortoiseSVN adds a new option on your right click menus when you're in Windows Explorer, listing SVN options.
If you don't have an SVN client, I recommend TortoiseSVN for its ease of use: SVN is a version control system that allows programmers to store code online easily and collaborate more effectively. Thanks to Tarn Adams for making the game, and everyone else who has contributed to the continual betterment and stability of the game!įirst you need an SVN client. Any questions or suggestions about the game can be submitted in this forum, and check out the wiki for a likely out-of-date but still pretty useful reference. It's also awesome, so you should download it. Its interface is an artifact of cancerous feature creep on top of the historically important but very old 1983 RPG Oubliette. Please note that LCS is unbalanced, unfair, unfriendly, and inappropriate. They last updated the game in 2004 I picked the source code up in 2007, and in collaboration with more than a dozen programmers and writers from the community, we have managed to release intermittent updates since then. LCS was originally created as a side project by Tarn and Zach Adams (Bay 12 Games), the brothers behind Dwarf Fortress. You play as the founder of a left-wing terrorist cell devoted to saving the United States from its descent into Conservative Insanity though writing to newspapers, volunteering, playing protest music, seduction, flag burning, graffiti, hacking, kidnapping, torture, murder, brainwashing, and other common and uncommon activist activities. Probably not your issue, in either case, as the point you're stuck is past numerous other necessary intersctions, but just mentioning it while I'm here.Liberal Crime Squad is a satirical open-source text-based modern strategic political RPG with bad pickup lines and bad graphics. Also, it's keyboard-only, in case you were clicking the mouse on the text, fruitlessly. Noting that (on the version I've just tried) possible options are (light) grey, unusable ones are (darker) grey, when not otherwise highlit, it'd be nice to check that.
Elsewhere in this Curses area there are threads dedicated to these that will point you to the right place to get these versions flr various platforms, hopefully yours included. Version-wise, the (off-Bay12, not ToadyOne any more) latest versions of LCS are version 4.12.4 or later. Just letting you know for next time you're stuck in DF itself. There's specific file-sharer site used for Dwarf Fortress on (Dwarf Fortress File Depot), but I'm not sure about its policy on not-DF-but-still-Bay12 files. Some sites prevent cross-site embedding (they like you to visit their site 'properly', for various reasons) so you could just include the URL. imagespace/abdefg.png - or similar) to include it. If you can upload it to an alternate upload-holder (there are countless image-hosting sites out there, with good and bad bits to each) you ought to be able to use the imagegtags (e.g. Unlike some forums, this one isn't configured to allow "upload as a attchment" to space on the forum server itself.
